Faculty of Science Council of October

The Faculty of Science Council at Aswan University convened today, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, for the October session of the 2025/2026 academic year. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Abu Al-Hamd Hassan Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by the following members:

Prof. Mohamed Abdel Moneim Raslan, Vice President of Taibah University for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Emeritus in the Chemistry Department;

Prof. Alaa Hassan Nour El-Din, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs;

Prof. Moataz Refaat Mohamed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Graduate Studies and Research;

Prof. Alaa El-Din Salah El-Din, Head of the Zoology Department;

Prof. Saber El-Kabir, Head of the Mathematics Department;

Prof. Ibrahim Bayoumi, Head of the Botany Department;

Prof. Badr Mohamed Ali, Head of the Physics Department;

Professor Dr. Essam Abdel Salam Shaalan, Director of the Quality Assurance Unit;

Prof. Gamal Abdel Rahim, Professor Emeritus in the Physics Department; and

Prof. Ahmed Rashad, Professor in the Department of Mathematics,

Prof. Etemad Ahmed Awadallah – Professor in the Department of Zoology,

Prof. Maher Ibrahim – Professor in the Department of Geology,

Prof. Osama Mahlal – Professor in the Department of Botany,

Dr. Atiyat Montaser – Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry,

Dr. Esmat Hassan – Lecturer in the Department of Physics,

and Ms. Asmaa Awad Mohamed – Faculty Secretary.

The meeting was held in the College Faculty Hall, where the council discussed a number of topics related to the Faculty academic and administrative affairs, as well as any new works.

Student Guide to Quality’ aims to raise awareness of the role of students in ensuring quality education

Under the patronage of Prof Dr. Abu Al-Hamd Hassan Mohammed, Dean of the Faculty of Science, the Faculty’s Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit organized a workshop entitled “A Student’s Guide to Quality” on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The workshop was presented by Dr. Noura Sharqawi Abazeed, Assistant Professor in the Botany Department.

The workshop was held as part of the Faculty’s commitment to promoting a culture of quality among students and raising their awareness of their pivotal role in supporting the quality assurance system for the educational process and striving towards academic accreditation.

The workshop addressed several key topics, including introducing students to the concept of quality in higher education, accreditation standards, mechanisms for students to evaluate courses and faculty members, and ways to submit constructive proposals that contribute to improving academic performance within the Faculty.

The event witnessed a distinguished attendance and significant interaction from the Faculty’s students, who expressed their appreciation for such initiatives that contribute to their active participation in the development and decision-making process.

Under the patronage of Prof. Abo El-Hamd Hassan Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Science, the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit at Faculty organized a workshop on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, entitled “Student Guide to Quality.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Noura Sharkawy Abazeid, Assistant Professor at the Department of Botany.

The workshop was held as part of the Faculty’s commitment to promoting a culture of quality among students and raising their awareness of their vital role in supporting the system of quality assurance in education and striving toward achieving academic accreditation.

The workshop covered several key themes, including an introduction to the concept of quality in higher education, accreditation standards, mechanisms for students to evaluate courses and Academic staff, and ways to submit constructive proposals that contribute to improving academic performance within the Faculty.

The event witnessed remarkable attendance and strong interaction from students, who expressed their appreciation for such initiatives that actively engage them in the processes of development and decision-making.
