Aswan University president: postponing first semester exams after the mid-year vacation

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan University President announced that all theoretical, practical and oral examinations for all study teams in different faculties as well as postgraduate studies have been postponed until after the mid-year vacation, based on the decision of Ministers Council, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Supreme Council of Universities as a precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Corona virus, in order to ensure the health and safety of all university employees, students, Academic staff and workers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ university President, added that teaching curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate studies will be completed, starting next Saturday, corresponding to 2nd January  2021, and until the end of the first semester of the 2020/2021 with the system of distance education, explaining that the timeline will be announced For the exams later after completing the mid-year vacation.

Aswan University president: large turnout from students and public in the book fair

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ inspected today the book fair and follow up implementing all precautionary measures when entering the university gate and self-sterilization gates as well as wearing medical masks, maintaining social distancing, sterilizations and spraying works which take place periodically in university facilities, to ensure safety of students, employees, visitors especially in light of holding the book fair in faculty of agriculture in university headquarter in sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the book fair witnesses large turnout from students of different faculties, Academic staff, their assistants, employees, the outside public for getting books in various sciences whereas the book fair is distinguished by the diversity of participating publishing houses that reach to 20 publishing houses.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the book prices are affordable for everyone and suitable for different ages.

University president thanked Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem _Minister of culture _ on this cultural and cognitive cooperation for Aswan people, the book fair will be concluded tomorrow from 24 to 31 December 2020 which includes 3 thousand books in different sciences.      

Aswan university president discussed the preparations of first semester exams

Today, Aswan University council No.101 headed by Prof. Ahmed Ghalab Mohamed _University president _ and in attendance of Prof. Ayman Osman _ Vice president for graduate studies and research, Dr. Magdy Mohamed Ali _ vice president for society service and environment development and in attendance of faculty deans, university presidents advisers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab welcomed the attendees and congratulated students, Academic staff and employees on occasion of Christmas and New Year, wishing safety for everyone.

The council congratulate faculty of science on adoption of faculty program from National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education and congratulate the elected president and vice president and members of students’ union on occasion of their winning.

Prof/ Ahmed Ghallab confirmed the importance of finalizing university medical and health projects of University hospitals that Aswan University hospital witnesses development in all departments which is considered a destination for all patients in Aswan Governorate and Upper Egypt for receiving treatment service and that through rehabilitation and raise the efficiency of cadres and medical expertise.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that University hospital witnesses establishing many of buildings as hospital of internal medicine and pediatrics with a capacity of 150 beds, included dialysis unit which was completed by 85% that will help in developing the medical and health system in university hospitals.

The council discussed implementing educational and sports constructions which are going on in full swing at university headquarter in Sahari and Aswan Al-gadeda.

The council discussed university plan for preparations of first semester exams works from providing well-ventilated halls for exams committees and maintaining social spacing  1.5 meters between every student with wearing masks in all faculties with applying all precautionary measures in light of confronting corona virus, for safety of students, academic staff, their assistants and university employees and working on providing all university potentials for exams and working on the success of first semester exams in light of the exceptional circumstances of country which are going through at the current time.     

The council approved to appoint a group of Academic staff and their assistants in Jobs of “Lecturer – assistant professor” and grant scientific degrees.
