Aswan University holds press conference celebrating for getting the first places in the international Rankings

Aswan University holds today the press conference to announce about the details of getting first places in international Rankings on scientific levels in three years consequently, in attendance of Major General/ Ashraf Attia _Aswan governor, Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _ Acting president of Aswan University, Dr. Atta Hashaad_ Head of the Arab Maritime Academy in Aswan Branch and a group of faculties deans.

Major General/ Ashraf Attia _ Aswan Governor_ assured that Aswan University and the governorate are two sides of the same coin and between them integration in various fields by providing all aspects of support to Aswan University to complete its advanced research and scientific path at the level of universities in the world and it represents the house of expertise to provide technical and scientific counseling and positive interaction with the community and the surrounding environment to provide all aspects of support.

Prof/ Ayman Mahmoud Othman added that the results of the British Times Ranking of World Universities 2022 showed that Aswan University is among the best 500 universities in the world, as it came in the 401-500 category, and the university ranked first as the best university in the world in terms of citation of research For the second time in its history, the university maintained its position at the top of the Egyptian universities for the third year in a row, through the university’s plan in the research and graduate studies sector, the university’s Ranking unit, and the development of the scientific research infrastructure

Prof / Mohamed Abdel-Aziz – Vice Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Head of the University Ranking Unit of Aswan University_ added that Aswan University is the only Egyptian university that  ranked among the top 500 universities in the world, According to the current results of British Times Ranking 2022. Aswan University achieved Last April, a unique achievement_ the first of its kind_ as it achieved the best ranking of Egyptian universities ever in the British Times ranking to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals 2021, where Aswan University came in 95th place among the top 100 universities in the world.  

At the end of the conference, the shields were exchanged between Major General/ Ashraf Attia_ Aswan Governor_ and Dr. Ayman Othman. A number of university leaders were honored and some memorial photos were taken.

 

Aswan University organizes a training course entitled fisheries management

Aswan University Acting president Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman declared that in frame of state concern to achieve Egypt vision 2020 for comprehensive development, Faculty of Fisheries Technology organized a training course entitled “fisheries management” during two days which included discussing economic viability of aquaculture, and quality management of fish farming water.

Prof. Ayman Othman _University president_ added that the training course dealt with health procedures for handling and caring for fish, and the training course concluded its events by presenting the project of exploiting the desert in integrated farming.

Dr. Salah El-Din Fikri Al-Saei _ Dean of Faculty of Fisheries Technology explained that this course is the first of a series of training courses that will deal with various important topics in the field of fisheries as a serious step to spread the culture of fish farming in Aswan Governorate with providing technical support and counseling to young people to set up farming projects as well as educating fishermen on correct practices and providing guidance and counseling For all those interested in the field in Aswan Governorate, the course was opened by Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, President of Aswan University, and the training course was concluded in attendance of Dr. Salah El-Din Fikri Al-Saii, Dean of the faculty_ the faculty Vice-Deans and the trainees, and they took memorial photos.

Visit of Committee of Measurement, Evaluation and Examinations Centre of Ministry of Higher Education to Aswan University

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _acting president of Aswan university_ received the committee of measurement and assessment Centre in Ministry of Higher Education in university headquarter in Sahari and that in attendance of Prof. Nady Kamal Aziz Gerges _ Manager of Quality Assurance unit

Today, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of Aswan University, received the Committee of Measurement, Evaluation and Examinations Center at the Ministry of Higher Education at the University Campus in Sahari, in attendance of Dr. Nadi Kamal Aziz Gerges – Director of Quality Assurance and Accreditation Centre at Aswan University and Dr. Hassan Allam – Director The Measurement and Evaluation Center at the university, Dr. Yasser Abdel-Hamid Diab, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Dr. Adel Zein _Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering, the deans of faculties, heads of departments and directors of measurement and evaluation units in Faculties of Education, Nursing, Arts, Agriculture, Natural Resources and Energy Engineering, and a number of Academic staff and their assistants. The committee includes: Dr. Sahar Sayed Amin and Dr. Ahmed Fakhry to receive the measurement and evaluation project at the university

For his part, Prof. Ayman Othman stressed the importance of this visit and working to follow up the measurement and evaluation unit at the Faculty of Energy Engineering, and this comes in frame of the exchange of experiences between different universities in the field of measurement and evaluation, which works to develop the educational process in the various Faculties of Aswan University.

Dr. Nady Kamal Aziz added that the visit aims to provide technical support to Faculty of Energy Engineering and to show the benefits that Aswan University  have achieved from establishing the Measurement and Evaluation Center at the university, especially in light of the Corona pandemic, through the electronic correction of most of the university’s faculties, in addition to encouraging other faculties to apply for projects Supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and the university to establish units of measurement and evaluation in the various faculties, as well as the actual entry into the era of digitization through the application of electronic exams in Faculties of the university through doing question banks.
