Faculty Council for the academic year 2021/2022 was held today corresponding to 13/4/2022, headed by Prof. Atef Ibrahim Abdel-Qader _ Faculty Dean _ and Prof. Mohamed Abdel- Moneim Raslan – Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs – and Prof. Alaa El-Din Salah El-Din – Vice Dean for graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Alaa Hassan Nour El-Din – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development, and heads of departments in Faculty Council Hall. The Council discussed some topics related to the faculty and the latest works.

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _Aswan University president_ assured that the university is preparing to receive the second semester as preparing the study plans, distributing courses, secondments plan to faculties, preparing study laboratories requirements such as glassware and chemicals to conduct a standard procurement. The halls, amphitheaters, laboratories, and outpatient clinics have also been equipped with the latest medical equipment, in order to facilitate students.

University president stressed on applying all precautionary measures including sterilization gates and spraying amphitheaters and study halls at all university headquarters in Sahari and Aswan new city in the various faculties of the university, which are 19 faculties and two institutes, stressing the wearing of medical masks and providing thermometers and other things as Precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students, employees and university affiliates.

Prof. Ayman Othman added that the university has completed all preparations and equipment in the university hostels to receive university students from different batches and all faculties of the university.

For his side, Dr. Loai Saad El-Din Nasrat_ Faculty of Engineering dean_ stated that the residential rooms were equipped and maintained, including carpentry maintenance, electricity and water connections, noting that the university hostel was provided with several restaurants to serve its students. This comes within the framework of the preparations and equipment in the university hostels, and the various needs of the university hostels have been prepared with all the tools and equipment necessary to provide the best services in the field of accommodation and nutrition in a manner worthy of Aswan University.

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University President_ announced that Aswan University ranked first place in the new year, as Aswan University came on top of Egyptian universities in “THE young universities Rankings 2022” less than 50 years”, and it was ranked 126^th at the level of international universities. And that the university is working at full capacity to maintain its position in the ranks of international universities as the best Egyptian university. This ranking comes after a series of distinguished university Rankings during the previous years, the latest of which was the inclusion of Aswan University in “U.S News: Best Global Universities Subject Rankings”_ in the engineering specialty, for the first time in its history.

For his part, His Excellency added that these results come in light of the concerted efforts of the distinguished scholars and researchers of Aswan University in developing the outputs of scientific research to be of high quality, which was reflected in the university’s uniqueness with unprecedented citation rates, especially the classification of 5 scientists of Aswan University among the best 2% of the Scientists around the world in their scientific specialties, and working on continuing developing policies and strategies to provide an ideal educational environment in line with international standards and also in line with the requirements of sustainable development in accordance with Egypt’s Vision 2030, and to promote the advancement of scientific research and its outputs, and to ensure that Aswan University scholars and researchers are fully aware of these Standards and mechanisms for their implementation.

Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalal Orabi _Director of the International Ranking Office at the university – explained that the Times Ranking of Young Universities is for universities that have been established for less than 50 years at the world level, and applies the same standards for the Ranking of international universities in the field of education, scientific research and Knowledge transfer and international cooperation, and weights are re-evaluated to reflect the image of the tasks of young universities, as 13 calibrated performance indicators are used to make comparisons between them.

His Excellency also congratulated Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, University President, as well as all staff of Aswan University as Academic staff and their assistants, employees and students, for achieving this achieving and working on the continuation of Aswan University in winning international scientific titles.
