Aswan University President receives Dr. Mamdouh Al-Domyati _ Former Minister of Antiquities, preparing for establishing postgraduate studies at Faculty of Archeology

Today, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan UNiversity President met Dr. Mamdouh Al-Domyati_ Former Minister of Antiquities and Head of Antiquities Sector Committee in university headquarter in Sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President, confirmed that the aim of the visit is to increase technical support and inspect Faculty of Archeology preparing for the establishment of postgraduate studies at Faculty of Archeology in Aswan, in attendance of Prof. Ayman Othman, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Badawi Ismail_ Dean of Faculty of Archeology in Luxor and a member of the  Antiquities Committee in the supreme council of universities, Dr. Gharib Mahmoud Taha_ Dean of Faculty of Archeology in Aswan_ and Dr. Omar Abo Zaid, Vice-Dean of Faculty of Archeology in Aswan.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab accompanied by Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damati and the accompanying delegation on an inspection tour in the university to find out the latest field, educational developments, logistical capabilities and human resources in the faculty. On the sidelines of this visit, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ Aswan University President_ presented to Dr. Mamdouh Al-Damati_ Former Minister of Antiquities_ a shield and medal of Aswan University in honor of his efforts in field of monuments and his scientific contributions in serving and advancing monuments sector. They discussed during the meeting the development of Faculty of Archeology at Aswan University and its role in Africa and preserving archaeological sites in Africa and discuss ways of cooperation between UNESCO and Faculty of Archeology _ Aswan University_ and how to apply ways of interest and projects in field of monuments and museums.

Aswan University president: postponing first semester exams after the mid-year vacation

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan University President announced that all theoretical, practical and oral examinations for all study teams in different faculties as well as postgraduate studies have been postponed until after the mid-year vacation, based on the decision of Ministers Council, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Supreme Council of Universities as a precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Corona virus, in order to ensure the health and safety of all university employees, students, Academic staff and workers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ university President, added that teaching curricula for undergraduate and postgraduate studies will be completed, starting next Saturday, corresponding to 2nd January  2021, and until the end of the first semester of the 2020/2021 with the system of distance education, explaining that the timeline will be announced For the exams later after completing the mid-year vacation.

Aswan University president: large turnout from students and public in the book fair

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University president_ inspected today the book fair and follow up implementing all precautionary measures when entering the university gate and self-sterilization gates as well as wearing medical masks, maintaining social distancing, sterilizations and spraying works which take place periodically in university facilities, to ensure safety of students, employees, visitors especially in light of holding the book fair in faculty of agriculture in university headquarter in sahari.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the book fair witnesses large turnout from students of different faculties, Academic staff, their assistants, employees, the outside public for getting books in various sciences whereas the book fair is distinguished by the diversity of participating publishing houses that reach to 20 publishing houses.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the book prices are affordable for everyone and suitable for different ages.

University president thanked Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem _Minister of culture _ on this cultural and cognitive cooperation for Aswan people, the book fair will be concluded tomorrow from 24 to 31 December 2020 which includes 3 thousand books in different sciences.
