University Center for Career Development at Aswan University announces the first virtual employment platform for 2021

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that in frame of training students and working to refine their talents and linking them to the labor market and its needs, the University Center for Career Development at Aswan University announces launching the first virtual employment platform for 2021 under patronage of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, and in cooperation with nine presidents of other universities.

 Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that this new platform will allow employers to offer job and training opportunities throughout the year. This platform will also provide students with the opportunity to constantly communicate with companies and employers and presenting CVs to conduct personal interviews, as well as attending many events and seminars on career counseling. The platform will launch its first events entitled “UCCD March Career Expo” on Monday 22nd March 2021. This is the second forum of its kind where the first virtual forum held in September 2020 achieved great success in attendance of a group of employers and about 4000 students and graduates from Ten Egyptian universities in nine governorates, from Aswan to Alexandria.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab indicated that this initiative has reached 15 centers so far in ten government universities, which were established in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development and technical support from the American University in Cairo to work on bridging the gap between university education and the needs of labor market and industry, By providing free Vocational guidance and training to various students and graduates.

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed the importance of launching this permanent employment platform as part of our constant endeavor to serve students and graduates.

This virtual employment platform is a dynamic three-dimensional platform that supports employers to be free from traditional employment processes and enables employers and job seekers to communicate virtually in a manner similar to direct and realistic dealing. The platform provides opportunities to connect and access to the best distinguished young Egyptian cadres, through which employers meet university students and graduates in a virtual environment and use chat rooms, teleconferencing, webcasts, webinars or email to exchange information about available jobs.

Aswan University signs a Cooperation protocol to support investment projects with Upper Egypt Development Authority

Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that the university represents the expertise center and engine of development through the diversity of faculties specialties and its units represented in the specialized centers, the engineering consultancy center and various faculties in order to achieve partnership with the projects of Upper Egypt Development Authority and working on providing technical support, consultations and scientific expertise in all fields supervised by Aswan University.

In this frame, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President, signed a cooperation protocol with Major General. Sami El-Shennawi_Chairman of Upper Egypt Development Authority, in attendance of Dr. Sabri Salah El-Din_ Advisor of President of Upper Egypt Development Authority for Developmental and Strategic Projects headed by council of ministers.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that it aims at joint and constructive cooperation between the authority and Aswan University in various developmental, social, economic, industrial, agricultural, scientific, cultural and other fields, in order to ensure the achievement of tangible positive results that benefit Upper Egypt society and create job opportunities for its people.

For his part, Major General. Sami Al-Shennawi_ Chairman of Upper Egypt Development Authority_ stated that the authority seeks to enhance cooperation with the various state agencies to overcome all obstacles of investment in Upper Egypt governorates and to develop the resources of each governorate and to accelerate developmental projects according to Law No. 157 of 2018 in establishing the authority and defining its terms of reference, We sign it today because development in Upper Egypt is tomorrow’s investment.

Mr/ Wael Abo Talib _the media spokesperson of Upper Egypt Development Authority_explained that the protocol aims to that Aswan University provide Upper Egypt Development Authority with all information and expertise in the fields and activities that the authority is implementing in Aswan governorate through university’s engineering consultancy center, developing and utilizing university farms to serve environment and society sector and increase its added value. .

As well as the activities carried out by the university, including the bakery unit at Faculty of Agriculture, in order to train in good food processing of the foodstuffs available in the Aswan governorate and invest the energies of young people by holding general and specialized training courses for students, developing their skills to meet the needs of labor market, opening job opportunities for trained and qualified graduates of Aswan University to Labor market, preparing detailed studies on the desert areas in Aswan Governorate and developing  an agricultural map to achieve wealth in agricultural and livestock production, as well as industrial and mining areas for investment, which will benefit us and make Egypt one of the leading countries in terms of attracting investments.
