Within the activities of the national project, the second encyclopedia for collecting wild plants at the level of the Republic, Aswan University won this national project to preserve, collect, and monitor all wild plants, along with Alexandria University, Suez Canal University, and the National Research Center with the Academy of Scientific Research at the level of Egyptian universities.

Under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Ayman Othman -President of the University, the study group during a scientific excursion they took in Gabal Elba National Park of the Red Sea Governorate a huge group of plants that weren’t listed in the first encyclopedia, were collected and watched, and their proper classification is being worked on; headed by Prof. Abu Al-Hamad Hassan Muhammad, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Prof. Muhammad Jabr Shadeed _ Professor of Flora in the Botany Department, and with the participation of university student included Dr. Iman Atito _ Assistant Lecturer Department of Botany, Dr. Asmaa Muhammad -Demonstrator of Department of Botany, Dr. Abdel Halim _ Assistant Lecturer, Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Agriculture, with the participation of Dr. Muhammad Owais, Faculty of Science, South Valley University, and Dr. Hamdi Ali Muhammad, Faculty of Science, Al-Azhar University, Assiut.

The Faculty council for the academic Year 2022/2023 was held today corresponding to 14/12/2022, headed by Prof. Ayman Othman _ University President _ in attendance of Prof. Alaa Hassan Nour El-deen – Vice Dean for Community Service and Environment Development and Prof. Atef Ibrahim Abdel-Qader – Former Dean of Faculty of Science and Ms / Asmaa – Faculty Secretary and the heads of departments and that was in Faculty Council Hall. The Council discussed some topics related to the Faculty and the new works.
