Aswan University Participates in a workshop within the project of preparing refugees and immigrants teachers at October 6 University

Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, , declared that Aswan University is participating today, 7th March 2021, in a workshop which is held at October 6 University in Cairo, in attendance of Dr. Kamal Aziz Gerges_ Director of the Center for Quality Assurance and Accreditation at Aswan University and Director of the Project for Preparing Refugees and immigrants Teachers at Aswan University_ and Dr. Yasmine El-Sayed Kamel _Project Member at the university.

University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that one of the most important international projects is the project of preparing refugees and immigrants’ teachers, which works to prepare male and female teachers who deal with children of immigrants, refugees, which is considered the first in the world in terms of idea, topic and humanity. And how to apply correct and scientific methods to teach them and get them out of what they suffer from harsh psychological conditions as a result of the circumstances that they and their families went through, and that by presenting the curriculum and the content that developed by specialized university professors from eight Egyptian, British, Greek and Cypriot universities, including Aswan University. 

Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that he hope that this experience to be generalized later in the universities worldwide due to the importance of this project in upgrading future generations and not leaving subject to deviation, extremism and hunting by stalkers. The workshop will be attended by representatives of Frederick University in Cyprus and University of Crete in Athens_ Greece, via video conference, and from Egypt, universities of Heliopolis, October 6, Al-Azhar, Zagazig, SEKEM Development Foundation, a representative of the Syrian community and the Etijah institute.

Prof. Nadi Kamal Aziz_ project manager at Aswan University_ stated that the workshop aims to review professional diploma courses of preparation of refugees and immigrants’ teachers and that through the results of experimentation of the courses of that diploma in Faculties of Education in the above participating universities.

Aswan University and other universities presented the lessons learned from experimentation, as well as equipping the computer lab in each faculty of education through computers, an integrated video conference unit and other devices. As well as the role of each university in advertising about the project in different ways, preparing for the accreditation of this diploma from the educational studies sector of Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities, preparing to applying it on a group of Syrian, Egyptian and other teachers.

 

Aswan University President receives a scientific committee to examine the scientific production

Today, Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed and in attendance of Faculty of Energy Engineering dean Dr. Adel Zain El-Din Mohamed received the scientific committee to examine the scientific production of the professors and assistant professors of power engineering and electrical machinery at university headquarter in Sahari.

University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed confirmed that Aswan University is witnessing a surge in scientific research outputs in recent years, and that as a result of a series of measures taken by the university that will enhance scientific research and its outputs in terms of quality and quantity of research. In this regard, the university followed a well developed scientific methodology with strategies and policies in line with international standards, which had an impact on the emergence of the university in several international rankings and assumed leading positions globally, locally and regionally.

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab referred to the importance of the scientific research sector at the university in its various faculties, and the university is working to harness all its potentials to upgrade the scientific research system and provide support to all research sectors. Scientific research is one of the most important scientific axes that put the university at the forefront of Egyptian, Arab and regional universities.

Faculty of Energy Engineering dean Dr. Adel Zein Al-Din stated that the visit of the scientific committee comes as a new tradition at Faculty of Energy Engineering and this helps the process of evaluating scientific research and creating a good environment for competing in the scientific research sectors with the support of Aswan University President Prof. Ahmed Ghallab_ who spares no effort in providing support for Scientific and academic research.

University Center for Career Development at Aswan University announces the first virtual employment platform for 2021

Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed declared that in frame of training students and working to refine their talents and linking them to the labor market and its needs, the University Center for Career Development at Aswan University announces launching the first virtual employment platform for 2021 under patronage of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, and in cooperation with nine presidents of other universities.

 Aswan University president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that this new platform will allow employers to offer job and training opportunities throughout the year. This platform will also provide students with the opportunity to constantly communicate with companies and employers and presenting CVs to conduct personal interviews, as well as attending many events and seminars on career counseling. The platform will launch its first events entitled “UCCD March Career Expo” on Monday 22nd March 2021. This is the second forum of its kind where the first virtual forum held in September 2020 achieved great success in attendance of a group of employers and about 4000 students and graduates from Ten Egyptian universities in nine governorates, from Aswan to Alexandria.

Prof. Ahmed Ghallab indicated that this initiative has reached 15 centers so far in ten government universities, which were established in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development and technical support from the American University in Cairo to work on bridging the gap between university education and the needs of labor market and industry, By providing free Vocational guidance and training to various students and graduates.

 Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed the importance of launching this permanent employment platform as part of our constant endeavor to serve students and graduates.

This virtual employment platform is a dynamic three-dimensional platform that supports employers to be free from traditional employment processes and enables employers and job seekers to communicate virtually in a manner similar to direct and realistic dealing. The platform provides opportunities to connect and access to the best distinguished young Egyptian cadres, through which employers meet university students and graduates in a virtual environment and use chat rooms, teleconferencing, webcasts, webinars or email to exchange information about available jobs.
