in frame of implementing the initiative of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi –President of the Republic_ Sports is a National Security, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – University President, Dr. Mohamed Sobhi Hassanein, Deputy Minister of universities sports federation of and Dr. Hisham El-Gyoushi – Secretary of the Universities Sports Federation.

Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Aswan University President, stressed the importance of sports in the lives of students and its implementation as a way of life. Today, the fourth practical day of the Department of Exercise and Gymnastics is being implemented within the initiative of His Excellency the President of the Republic “Sports is a National Security” and in attendance of the students of the university and Faculty of Physical Education in presenting art presentations to male and female students, as well as Sports performances and final rehearsals for the opening ceremony of the border governorates in February in Aswan. The faculty Student Union was honored on occasion of winning the university elections and escalate of 3 faculties in Aswan University for the first time.

At the end of the sports day Dr. Adel Makki, Dean of Faculty of Physical Education added that the Academic staff of the department were honored for their efforts and training of faculty students on art presentations. And They are Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Ghani – Coordinator of the Department of Exercise and Gymnastics on the promotion of Assistant Professor, Dr. Mohammed Abo Al-Hamed, Dr. Mahmoud Salah, Dr. Yousra Adly Dr. Hanan Amin, Dr. Hanan Sami and the teaching assistants Mr. Ibrahim Abdel- Nasser Ms. Shehanda Omar, and in attendance of Prof. Adel Mostafa, Professor of Exercise, Zagazig University, and the heads of departments at the faculty, Dr. Refaat Mohamed and Dr. Shereen Khairy and Academic staff who are Dr. Mohamed Abed, Dr. Mohamed Shamndi Dr. Walid Rizk and Dr. Mohamed Hamed, student coordinator_ Dr. Mohamed Salah and Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Razek Dr. Marwa Zidan and the assistants of the faculty at the end of the ceremony.

Ashraf Attia _ Aswan Governor, Dr. Ayman Othman_ Aswan University president_ opened Today the Diabetic Foot Room, Diagnostic Unit, Remote Therapy, Urology Department and Neurosurgery Department at Aswan University Hospital, and that in attendance of Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive Manager of Aswan University Hospitals, Dr. Essam Abo El-majd_ Manager of surgery hospital, Vice dean for Education and students’ affairs and Mostafa Zamzam_ Chairman of the board of trustees of Sonaa El-Khair Foundation for Development.

Dr. Ayman Othman confirmed that today the opening of the first room of its kind to provide treatment and awareness services for diabetic foot patients in southern Egypt comes within the framework of reducing the burden on patients in Aswan Governorate and patients in southern Upper Egypt governorates and working to protect diabetic foot patients from amputation, inside Aswan University Hospital and within an initiative “Healthy Foot” was recently launched by the Sonaa Al Khair Foundation for Development under the patronage of the Prime Minister and under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and in implementation of the protocol of joint cooperation between Sonaa Al Khair Foundation and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals.

Dr. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury_ Dean of Faculty of Medicine, indicated that this room is the first of its kind in Upper Egypt, which was equipped by Sonaa Al Khair under the slogan of the presidential initiative inside Aswan University Hospital, which aims to treat all diabetic foot patients_ who are unable_ free of charge in southern Egypt with the provision of treatment, care and Awareness services for them for free, and that come within the framework of providing new and distinguished medical services to patients in Aswan and southern Upper Egypt governorates.

Dr. Ashraf Mebed_ Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, stated that the visit program also includes the opening of a remote detection room in cooperation with the hospitals of the Ministry of Health to exchange medical expertise on patients’ cases to reach the most appropriate diagnosis of patients’ cases in various medical specialties. The Urology Department was also opened after being developed and equipped with a capacity of 22 beds, the Neurosurgery Department was also opened with 10 intensive care beds and 12 beds for patients. The medical convoy work in various specialties will be launched to the village of Al-Madiq in Nasr Al-Nuba, which will implement free examinations for cases, perform the necessary analyzes and x-rays, and transfer surgical cases to Aswan University Hospital to perform the necessary operations for patients.

Dr. Essam Abo El-Majd_ Director of the Surgery Hospital, stated that new medical departments have been opened at the University Hospital, which will make a major breakthrough to receive more cases and reduce waiting lists.

For his part, Mostafa Zamzam – Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sonaa Al-Khair Foundation for Development, confirmed that the Healthy Foot Initiative room at Aswan University, which is being opened today in cooperation with the Vascular Department at Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, will provide all aspects of health care for diabetic foot patients who are unable to Foot amputation prophylactic treatment, free spare parts for all cases, by providing free monthly treatment for patients who are unable, with the launch of awareness programs on ways to prevent diabetic foot infection and how to define ways to protect against foot amputation and ways to optimally deal with diabetic foot wounds.

At the end of the Minister of Immigration’s tour of the university hospital, Major General. Ashraf Attia_ Governor of Aswan, and Dr. Ayman Othman_ Aswan University president, presented the university’s shield to the Minister of Immigration in appreciation and gratitude for her support to the health system in Aswan. The President of Aswan University presented the university’s shield to Mostafa Zamzam, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sonaa El-khair Foundation for Development, for good joint cooperation.

President. Abdel-fattah E-sisi_ President of the republic _ issued a decision to appoint Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _ to be Aswan University President Until reaching the legal age.

Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar_ Minister of Higher Education and scientific research, has announces continuing Dr. Ayman Othman as acting president of Aswan University until choosing University president.

Prof. Othman thanked President El-Sisi _University president, Dr. Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _ to renewed confidence to appoint him president of Aswan University.

Dr. Ayman Othman_ took command of Aswan university as Acting president of Aswan university according to issued decision of 28/3/2021  

He had previously issued Republican Decree No. 1955 of 2017 for appointing Dr. Ayman Mahmoud Othman Abu Zaid, Vice President of Aswan University for Graduate Studies and Research, for a period of 4 years.

Prof. Osman took up many administrative and leadership positions at Aswan University, starting with the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at Faculty of Engineering, then as a Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, reaching to the Deanship of Faculty of Engineering for two consecutive terms from 2011 to 2017, and Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research; Then acting president of Aswan University, then president of Aswan University until he reaches retirement age.

Aswan University, during his assumption of the university’s responsibility during the transitional period, ranked 95th globally in the British Times Ranking for sustainable development.

Dr. Ayman Othman_ University President_ also signed an executive agreement between the university and the Egyptian Space Agency, Aswan University organized a medical convoy for Tanzania in July 2021. Aswan University recently inaugurated a conference hall in the name of Field Marshal. Mohamed Hussein Tantawy. During the transitional period, Othman took many decisions supporting the educational process at Aswan University and positive participation in the community service and environmental development sector.
