{"id":1174,"date":"2021-03-04T08:24:23","date_gmt":"2021-03-04T08:24:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sci.aswu.edu.eg\/en\/?page_id=1174"},"modified":"2025-02-24T11:26:24","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T11:26:24","slug":"geology-department","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sci.aswu.edu.eg\/en\/geology-department\/","title":{"rendered":"Geology department"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: verdana, geneva; color: #000000;\">Geology department of faculty of science at Aswan University began in 1975 and that after establishing faculty of science as a branch of Assiut University, thus, it is one of the oldest academic departments in Assiut University branch, then it became a department in faculty of science at South Valley University by Republican decree No.142 of 1994, whereas Assiut university branches were separated from Sohag, Qena and Aswan to become South valley university, and the Republican Decree No. 311 was issued on 6\/11\/2012 for establishing Aswan University, the Geology department became subsidiary to the university and its headquarter in Sahari.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px; font-family: verdana, geneva;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> The study began in 1976\/1975. The first degree (Bachelor&#8217;s degree) was awarded in 1979, <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">while the enrollment for the master\u2019s degree began 1976 and the enrollment for PHD began 1977 and then the enrollment in applied diplomas began 1984. Thus, the Department of Geology is one of the oldest scientific departments in Faculty of Science at Aswan University. Since then, courses and department programs have been developed to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market and keep pace with modern trends in the field of earth
